Is it possible to only have a 3-step skincare routine?
When we take a look at the skincare market, there are TONS of products being offered. Each product are uniquely marketed with claims that are captivating. It makes people think that they had to purchase several products just to address their skincare dilemmas. It’s a guilt pleasure where we tend to hoard skincare products and just use it consecutively in our face. It has a sense of security that we are able to provide our skin all the care it possibly needs in all areas using different products. The question lies as to whether, ‘Is it possible to only have a 3-step skincare routine?’ The answer is absolutely YES.
We often mistake a skincare routine as a routine that has to have at least 5 products in it. Especially beginners, I think you’re overwhelmed with how others mostly do it. However, 3-step skincare routines are possible — doable and they do WORK as much as how multiple products combined can do. It all matters as to WHAT. HOW and WHYs of your skin. Less is more to products that are compatible with your skin. At the end of the day, the BASICs are the foundation of a skincare routine.
Are you a skincare newbie, or just someone who got too overwhelmed that you’ve been using and decided to go back to the basics? Then, let’s get to know more about this ULTIMATE 3-STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE.
STEP 1: Cleanse
The most important part of a skincare routine is CLEANSING. The main reason that we are creating a skincare routine is because we want to address our skin concerns — one of which are mostly caused by bacteria, dirt and dead skin cells. Starting your routine with cleansing would remove the impurities that are sitting on your face that may clog your pores — eventually becoming an acne. Cleansing can be done by the use of facial cleansers that may be in the form of a soap or a liquid. Choose which best suit your skin.
For starters, it is best to use cleansers that are gentle on the skin. Ahava Life Skincare’s Hydrating De-Pollutant Cleanser is a good starter because it removes dead skin, oil, and other pollutants in your skin. It is packed with nourishing, cleansing and natural-ingredients that makes your skin light and clean after wash!
STEP 2: Toning
Definitely the cleansing’s partner. Toners are important because they help balance the pH level of our skin. Our skin’s pH level must be balanced to keep our skin’s acid mantle from being be disturbed. Once our skin mantle is disturbed, it would result to skincare problems such as acne, infections and dermatitis. A skin with a balanced pH level also inhibits bacteria from growing onto your skin.
If you have dry skin, I recommend you to use alcohol-free toners because alcohol has a tendency to dry your skin more. Use toners like the Rejuvenating Hydration Mist, an alcohol-free toner that is rich with botanical extracts like Aloe Vera, Jacaranda and Elderflower! It helps tone and hydrate your skin at the same time! Can we just also talk about that the base is an Aloe Leaf Juice that is 100x better compared to Pure Aqua?
STEP 3: Moisturise
Toning prepares your skin for the moisturiser. Applying a moisturiser is important because it helps in preventing dryness to your skin. It also helps in reviving your skin after drying. It is an essential step because a moisturiser maintains the barrier of our skin which prevents damages from occurring.
Moisturisers are in the form of butters, creams, gels, serums etc. If you’re looking for one, try the Hydrating Age-Defyer Moisturiser wherein the base ingredient is an Aloe Leaf Juice. An ingredient that is popular for its moisturising properties. It also helps in nourishing, soothing, rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory properties because of a flower called Jacaranda. Jacaranda helps our skin to pump and produce more collagen!
